Ísfell Ballon trawl

Ísfells fótreipistrollin, also known as Ballon trawl, are light to drag, has long wings, and a narrow groundrope that lays tight up against the longline to maximize the fishing capacity. They are specifically designed for the fishing of Pleuronectiforms, and are usually dragged in shallow waters over soft clay or sand seabeds. The trawls are tailer-made to the specific needs of each fishing vessel, keeping in mind its pulling power and type.
