Ísfell sells lice skirts that are manufactured by Selstad AS made from high quality materials that ensure a long lifetime and long-term protection from sea lice. The lice skirts are mounted in the upper water layer (depth of 5-100 meters) where larvae of sea lice are floating using a fat micelle. The lice skirts work as a barrier for the salmon lice and shuts them off from the salmon in the cage. In addition to protecting against sea lice, the skirt also shields against other undesired particles and organisms. The skirts are tailor-made to the customers needs and are only used high quality materials that suit the environment the fish farm is located in.
Ísfell delivers both sealed skirts that guide the flow of water around the cage as well as skirts that allow water to permeate through them. All our lice skirts are certified according to NS9415.
